You work the front desk of a hotel after dark. Scan reservations, look after the rooms, watch the cameras. Let the wrong one in, and you are the one who has to deal with it.

Your shift

Three jobs. One night. No help coming.

  1. The reception counter, with check-in scanners and a service bell.

    01Check them in

    Scan the reservation and look at who is standing at your desk. Twelve kinds of guest should never get a room. Five hide in the paperwork. Seven just look wrong.

    02Keep the hotel running

    Guests need things. Rooms need looking after. The power goes out. Every mistake drains your Sanity, and at 0% you are gone.

    03Watch the cameras

    Something is standing at the end of the hall. Hold REPORT and it leaves. Stare at it yourself and it takes a little more of you each second.

Anomalies

Look closely before you hand over the key.

They walk in with a reservation like everyone else. Turn the right ones away and the night stays quiet.

A guest whose smile is far too wide. A guest who is much too tall. A guest with no face. A weeping guest. A guest whose head faces backwards. A guest covered in stitches. A guest with a suitcase that is not quite right.

Residents

Guests are not the only thing in the building.

From Night 3 there are things in the halls and under the beds. Each one has a different weakness, and the wrong tool does nothing.

The Watcher: a pale figure in a long black coat and a wide-brimmed hat.

Stands still. Drains your Sanity for as long as you look at it.

What stops it Look away. Report it on the cameras.

The Night Porter: a tall faceless bellhop in a red uniform pushing a luggage cart.

The Bed Crawler: a thin grey creature with long black hair and claws.

Classes
